I wouldn't consider it polluting, or "becoming the thread". Our direct posts to each other are only a part of the thread, and even the subject itself (including posts that involve only one or neither of us) hasn't totally taken over.

OTOH if you want to drop the subject I probably won't have a problem with that idea. I don't regularly scan this thread anymore.

Not books with an ideological axe to grind but ones that start with the concern to provide as good a quality of health care as possible to as many citizens as possible.

If your really looking for unbiased data the point should be looking for books who's aim (to the extent you can tell what the aim is) is to represent the data accurately and in the appropriate context, rather than books who have a political agenda, even the agenda of "providing as good a quality of health care to as many citizens as possible".
