The mistake of the democrats is that they believed what this administration told them about Iraq.

That was in retrospect a huge failure of judgment.

But that in no way affects the fact that this is Bush's war and occupation. He made the decision to invade. He in fact bragged about it, saying "I am the decider. You are not the decider".

It is nice when every once in a while one of the righties here says something that indicates that they still have some contact with reality and would not just blindly follow Bush off of the lemming cliff.

I agree with your points. I would reverse the order though. personally I think the handling of the occupation has been more of a disaster than the original invasion. I am of the firm opinion that if we had handled the occupation in a way that gave regular Iraqis a fair shake that we wouldn't be in the mess that we are now.
