So please stop trying to turn every value of mine into a religion. I want clean air because its easier to breathe. I want clean rivers because they can be used for swimming and fishing. I want clean lakes because I like to water ski. I don't want a hothouse of an earth because I don't like hot weather. No one is against clean air. No one is against clean rivers and clean lakes and mild weather. Bush is.....he's done everything he can to ease this nation's environmental laws. But when you say that the only way to get there is to follow your way and that of the environmentalists, you are forcing your beliefs upon others because you can't stand to hear anyone tell you that the sky isn't falling. No, I am not.....I will take progress anyway I can get it. Unfortunately, progress stalled 7 years ago.Dogma, stifling of debate, and smugness are all traits that you demonstrate, yet you regularly accuse the religious right of demonstrating. How have I stifled the debate on this thread? I will cop to the smugness and that's only because I never knew how uninformed and out of it the other side was. I always thought the GOP was competent. Now I realize it has some very clever leaders and some very stepford-like followers. That's what made it look like a well crafted juggernaut for so long.Your environmental beliefs themselves aren't a religion, but the way you and others preach and jam them down the throats of everyone else, you might as well call it one. Sorry........I know how hard it is for you to breathe clean air. I mean why else would you leave the PNW for the OC. I apologize for imposing my values on yours. ;-)
