I've no idea. If he was anti government because of something the government did to him personally, then no, I doubt it had any affect. I wondered if maybe he hadn't been turned down by the military- which might have given him a whopping case of resentment. I tried to find out just what set him off- but I can think of numerous triggers which have nothing to do with the bugaboo of "the left". Dunno why you italicized anti American- I didn't say that, and that wasn't in his note, as far as I know. "This story has been aslmost buried. You think it would have been if it were a crazed Iraq vet shooting a peace protestor?" I don't know what kind of national news you think this is. The motive, so far, is that "he hated the government". You think that's national news? I don't know why someone who hated the government would shoot a peace protestor. Now if someone hated the peace movement and shot a peace protestor, that might be news. And if this guy was anti-war and shot a military guy, THAT would be news too- but right now there isn't any evidence for that. Would you like them to manufacture some? Maybe we can have Yon call up someone in Iraq...

Oh. I stand corrected. I'm SURE all the liberal anti-war slop had no effect on him. Right? It is a lot more likely that the kill them and ask questions later right wing loonie group... [that would include you] has more of an effect. Back to more sane subjects. I'm happy to report that there haven't been any reported forced [or death] conversions to Islam in this area. It looks like it is still confined to where you are. BTW, which did you choose conversion or death? jttmab
