Somebody told me the military went to the 9mm to keep in line with NATO, they'd have the same ammo as other NATO armies.

If this is true, it's a piss poor reason to stop using the 45.

Federal is working an an EFMJ boolet that gives the 9 more knockdown.

Weight is a primary consideration.

Today's soldiers have a much weightier basic combat load to carry.

Those who have a genuine need for a 45 still have access to them.
