Obviously we disagree on this. Most folks take your pov but i think they forget how close we were to deflation depression in 2002. Try to remember back then with inflation almost in negative territory and lowering interest rates on their own not working. Bush to the rescue with tax cuts over 10 years that gave businesss enought confidence to start spending again.
Also your WW2 numbers, though accurate, dont count because we were still in depression when war started and the war itself put hundreds of thousands to work and revved up the economy.
