Society has to do the best it can.

When one has a heart attack and the ambulance is there in 10 minutes with trained paramedics and EMTs to stabilize the patient until they can get them to the hospital is society forcing people to share.

The fire department is there to serve all people because society has forced people to share.

The police department which protects everyone is there because society forces people share.

Food stamps (which I had to get one time when I was down to $10) is an example of society forcing people to share.

Public schools, public water, public sewer, and on and on and on.

Many people do not just want social services, they demand them, they just do not want to pay for them, but do not htink the whole thing through e.g. taxes are what pay for that stuff! The wise people understand the needs and benefits of social programs and are willing to pay for them.

The others are in a state of deniability about societies role in their lives, until ------- they get that heart attack, their house catches fire, or a burgler is breaking into their house.

Then they want to know why they didn't get there faster-lol!

"Society is ineffective at forcing people to share."

Then how do you explain that the most successful societies are those that do just that? (E.g. all of Europe, America north of Mexico).
