He has actually said many things that lead me to believe he will be more pleased to see the Iraq efforts ending in dismal failure, than with success ... which will be destructive to this country and I don't think he gets that at all.

Maybe you don't get it. Maybe we need to leave. Maybe staying hoping for a victory that will never come is what's destructive to this country.

When Bush visited Hanoi, he said of Iraq, "We'll succeed unless we quit."

We quit in Vietnam. We were fighting them there so we wouldn't have to fight them here. It was a fight for freedom, the dominoes and all that. We lost in Vietnam but we beat communism anyway. The dominoes didn't fall. We didn't have to fight them here.

The same analogy may apply to Iraq and the War on Terror. You don't have to hate America to think that way. And you don't have to impugn somebody's patriotism to disagree wit them.
