What's going to happen in Iraq over the next year? In about 3 months, space ships carrying The Race, a species of sentient lizards from outer space and founders of an empire, will land to conquer Planet Earth, home of the Tosavites, or Big Uglies, which is what they call people. Unfortunately for them, they are a race which changes very slowly and methodically, on the order of centuries, rather than every 15 minutes like we do. Equally unfortunate, our year is twice as long as theirs. So that when they sent a recon sat to check us out in 1000 AD, and spotted warriors in rusty armor on horse back, they couldn't predict that, when they landed 500 Race years later, we would be able to nuke them. Oh, and the Race is addicted to ginger. scifi.com
