Most Americans and the world is worried big time. We know no one is at the helm! I think at the very least it will support the gold price where it is and then events will propel gold higher.

My belief is that the US financial reality is much more dire than even those who are scared realize.

They did away with M 3 and we have pretty much been wthout a treasury secretary for 6 years (I think that was done on purpose so no one could see what was going on), so there is no factual acccounting of where we really stand and how bad things are.

The US dollar as a flight to quality is just nothing more than an empty habit, which is evaporating quickly.

And this administration NEVER TELLS THE TRUTH IF IT IS BAD. And they are magicians at hiding things.

We could see not only see a collapse in the dollar, but attendant rioting in the streets as unemployment and bankruptsies sky rockets.

We still maintain and Ozzie and Harriet 1950's view that bad things only happen in other countries and few are left who remember the great depression.

When I was young, as someone here mentioned, we were taught as children just how horrible the great depression was. 40% unemployment. Hoover was advised to let the depression run to get rid of "the dead wood". Always those dead wood and Horatio alger myths that many love to believe in.

And if Bush is not a Hoover, at least, I will eat my hat.

Americans drove the last market IMO let's see what happens. I will have to let them drive it for a while again.
