There is a reason the USSR folded. The real reason was prohibition of alcohol in late 80-s by Gorbachev. That got all folks really mad, and got him extremely unpopular at home. Everyone was making their own booze with a "glove" sticking out on top called "Hello Gorbachev". Then a drunk Yeltsin became the new Russian President -g- No -g- intended, by the way, that really the way it was.
