"Senate Republicans are planning to block key votes to stop the war because they know they'll lose."

Sigh. Even Moveon plays the game.

Repeat after me. The Republicans are threatening to filibuster. With an 'f'. You know, the act that directly threatened the Constitution when the Democrats were the minority.

re: You read that right: with the Democratic majority plus three key Republicans ready to vote for an exit strategy for Iraq, the Senate has enough votes to pass legislation that would force President Bush to bring most troops home by April. But the Republicans are trying to stop that vote.

Even if they get past the filibuster do they have enough votes to override the veto?

I don't get that math. That's 54 votes - not enough to even pass a bill, even if they get EVERY Dem., which requires 60. It takes 67 to over-ride a veto.
