re: You read that right: with the Democratic majority plus three key Republicans ready to vote for an exit strategy for Iraq, the Senate has enough votes to pass legislation that would force President Bush to bring most troops home by April. But the Republicans are trying to stop that vote. Even if they get past the filibuster do they have enough votes to override the veto? I think you need 60 votes to override a filibuster.....and from the sounds of the email they have 50 Dems and 3 GOPers. What I was pointing out by posting the Moveon email was that all this talk of GOPers defecting from Bush's position appears more wishful thinking than substance.
