One field of endeavour where Canadians have done very well in the US is in the cultural industries, particularly comedy, which at times is virtually dominated by Canadians. Half of SNL's cast and production crew, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Tom Green, etc. etc. etc. We get to use our quasi-insider status to be able to see what's really going on in American culture, but our outsider status lets us see the absurdities and comment on them. I wonder how Kiwis do in the Aussie comedy biz...
