Asimov's "Foundation" series, at least the first 3 books, can't be beat. Must be among the best SF ever written.

"Riverworld" can't be beat. Read it and enjoyed it.

I'd say some of Philip K. Dick is good, some questionable.

And you can't miss with Niven.
