That was a very nice and lucid blog. If I buy X$$ worth of oil, that doesn't necessarily mean that I paid - or that the seller received - USD's. Therefore, it is not possible - looking at billions of dollars in oil transactions - to tell that those are "real" dollars which can be repatriated and come back to haunt us... by acting as claims on our assets and causing inflation. Could be that for the most part those are just measuring units. There is more than enough real dollars out there in the world as well - but that's a different story.
