Allegedly, you get more flavor out of the bean, but I've found that grinding them fine does the same thing in the automatic drip coffee maker.... I think it is just trendy nonsense!! ;-) But I have one.....oops As fr the taste, there is certainly a quality issue with coffee, and you usually get what you pay for...I honestly drink it because I like the taste.. I do like tea as well, especially green teas, but do not have it around the house very much, no good reason for this though....
