Have you and JCP seen "The Fog of War"? Saw it last night... really interesting especially if you lived through those times. If you don't feel like renting it, you can download it free here: freedocumentaries.org probably loses some of it's impact in a little PC window. Striking similarities to the Iraq debacle, and differences. Highly recommended.
