Like it or not, the Saudi royal family is the custodian of Islam, in terms of being the custodians of Mecca and Medina.

No deal can be done without their approval.

What are you talking about? Mecca and Medina are in Saudi Arabia, not the Gaza strip, silly. There are entire countries in between Gaza and Saudi Arabia. The Saudis control over Islam didn't affect the ability of the Muslims of East Timor to declare independence, and it should have no affect on the Muslims of Gaza to do the same. If you think the Gazaites will heed the decisions of the Saudi "so called royal" family if it contradicts their own Gazaite interests, methinks you are mistaken.
