I think you're being too cynical. They may as well see what 7803 shows and if its not much let it go. Phase IIa 28 day trial shouldn't be costing them too much and they said data by year end.

I don't get the feeling the ceo runs the company as a burn and dilute model but I guess we'll see now that the going got tough.
