Ah, yes, Blish! Never did quite justify the spidizzy drive, but....

His "A Case of Conscience" was rather goof in that it was not clear whether it should be interpreted religiously or scientifically. Blish, from other evidence, probably meant religiously, but purposely left it open to interpretation.
