Well I was laughing so hard as I was posting it that I called them endangered when they are not truly endangered as another poster pointed out. The problem appears to be poaching so they don't have a real good handle on how many are truly being harvested which makes it virtually impossible to manage the fishery or set quota's for the licensed fisherman.

Should I feel guilty when I eat Sea Bass?

I don't eat Chilean Sea Bass. I avoid anything threatened. I guess that makes me crunchy. My cooked fish is farmed, mostly salmon and tilapia, but I eat a lot of sashimi, which is almost all wild.
