Best built car bar none is a Toyota. You are very lucky that your Nissans held up well. Hyundai, OTOH is an impressive example of how to overcome a horrific reputation: start building quality products and back them with extended warranties.

My Toyota T-100 is 12 this year, zero defects and zero problems. The American-built Z3 will be 10 in November. 4 Defects no problems since those corrected. The Ford Sport Coupe is celebrating 78 years on the road in 2007. Dozens of defects no doubt (I wasn't around at the creation to verify this), and probably a couple of hundred problems since then, but I'm not complaining. Someone I know says that the Model A was the first genuinely reliable car Ford produced and also the last.
