Yes! It worked so well in Iraq just keep repeating it.

Ah for the days of clandestine CIA supporting opposition groups and promoting change from within. And US diplomacy promoting change from the top, and the US as an example to the people of how great a country can be if you just let Democracy work it's magic. The good old day of the 'benevolent super power'.

"A recent opinion poll in Iran found that 70 percent of Iranians want to normalize relations with the U.S., and 61 percent oppose the current Iranian system of government. Any visitor to Iran knows that it is — at a people-to-people level — the most pro-American Muslim country in the region, and the regime is as out of touch and moribund as the shah’s was in the late 1970s."

Which probably explains the rhetoric. It is a perfect profile to the neocons. Why, if we can topple the regime, the people will throwing rose petals before buckling down and creating a democratic government which will cause all the despotic regimes in the region to topple like dominoes...

Oh, just like in Iraq......what a brilliant strategy! The neos must have massive IQs.
