THere there is no mention of support for a "final solution" in the middle east.

Keep reading. The Mufti was an active participant in Hitler's Final Solution - he caught several slackers who were ready to sell Jewish children to would-be rescuers and put a halt to that - and Hitler had promised him it would be implemented in Palestine just as soon as the Germans seized the place. Of course, why not? check out the Great Farhood of Baghdad that the Nazi aided putsch in Iraq put into place in 1941.
