I live on a golf course and have my own golf cart. The thing virtually runs on air. I filled it this spring and play golf almost every day and I doubt I could fit 2 gallons of gas in it.

Golf carts on the road sharing with cars is a bad idea however. In the words of a state patrolman friend, it isn't speed that kills it's difference in speed. Unfortunately with golf carts and cars sharing space you would have a wowzer of a speed difference going on there.

Now, now KLP.......I don't think you read the article. No where does it mention ethanol.

It would be a partial solution for millions of people who only rely on their cars for local transportation, although the vehicle would convert to using gasoline on longer trips. I rarely travel more than 20 miles from home, but my husband totally relies on his van for work, and does a ton of driving every day. When he got to his job he could plug in and recharge while working. And of course we could all recharge the batteries at night or when the vehicle is idle.
