The questions suggested that someone is considering requiring countries of origin listed on all food products. Egad

Why would that be a bad thing?

I know I'm sure getting wary of Chinese food and other consumable imports.

I was listening to a libertarian talk radio show while doing errands today, and the big deal in my state is knowing the ingredients, calorie count and vitamin and mineral count in restaurant food. Someone made the comment that listing all of that information on a menu would take reams of paper, a huge amount of wall space, in fast foods for example, and only confuse the consumer.

In some regards I think it is all a bunch of nit picking, but on the other hand, I don't object to having more information about what it is I am eating.

Maybe restaurants could have lists printed and available on demand. In fact I'd bet that is what it comes down to in the end.
