Or the AMA does what they were created to do. Back in the days when MDs had a reputation for being drunks and, literally, hacks, the government was on the verge of regulating the medical profession. The AMA was created to head that off. They were going to set standards and police their members to weed out those who didn't meet standards. The latter part hasn't been done in decades.

I agree. However, I'm the type of guy who trusts doctors over politicians.

Kind of like Dilbert, except replace the engineers with doctors and the managers with politicians and government regulators.
