7 years ago. If I wanted to keep it the same percentage of the houses cost it would be something like $9K now.

Of course my down payment was small (I made as big of down payment on my Infiniti, and a bigger down payment on a Ford in '95), but you can get houses with small down payments. You don't need to put 20% down.
