You're certainly right about this, CR: "It doesn't matter what we say about what they say or do"...

But then, OTOH, IF we don't say something either direction of the current actions/nonactions of our officials in DC and our States, we have NO one to blame but ourselves. I would rather make some phone calls, and/or send some letters or emails occasionally, than do absolutely nothing.

Too many people are doing nothing. And they don't read much, but rather watch Oprah or any of the day and night soaps....

BUT they have an "opinion" and a vote.

I ran into an old neighbor earlier today. She went on a rant about the current Government, the WH in particular. ""Didn't think we should EVER have gone into Iraq. Didn't feel ANYONE should ever drop bombs on civilians. ETC ETC ETC.""

Wehen I mentioned that all the quotes from the previous Adm re WMD and what Saddam was doing or not doing were really very accurate (and told her what Snopes.com had done to varify all of them on the list), she countered with "well, 'he' didn't go to war".... I told her that Saddam was actively funding AQ and Hezbollah, and probably others. The Oil-for-Food scandal, and all the etcs.... She also reads the "NYT as well as the ST", and thinks they are well researched. Also she hadn't seen any proof of the above.

I mentioned that John Burns did a good job. She didn't know who he was, nor did she know Daniel Pipes, Mark Steyn, nor Victor Davis Hanson.....

Plus, she and her husband have now retired from King County Adm, but still are active in related things, plus still active in local city council, etc....they both vote.

It's a wonder that we don't have a total Marxist Government here in WA. We're headed that way if something doesn't happen to change things.
