In a nutshell...nation building. Occupation of a nation. Building 14 new Military bases and the world's largest embassy compound. We're spending in Iraq like a drunken sailor...building up an incredible debt. Bush's policy has failed...and will continue to be a failure until the troops are brought home. The goal is to bring "democracy" to a wider middle east. You can't have democracy while your thumb is on the scales of justice. Nor can you influence people in a positive way by bombing them. There's going to be additional blowback from this ill advised excursion. It would seem that was the plan from the beginning. War is a very profitable business.
