I was not talking about the stock exchanges, but I heard CME
lowered the margins for the MM. The glitch was a flush of
program trading, the 1987 mechanism really - as puts blew
through strikes, more futures selling was required. Program
trading was disconnected due to curbs, then reconnected.
Boom! Geez, who says they buy stocks on stock exchanges? -g-
