Movie review: "Bride and Prejudice," an Indian musical based upon Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice." First, a couple of caveats. I am a sucker for Indian women. And women who aren't Indian, but I really do like Indian women. <G> Second, I hate nearly every female author, but love Jane Austen. So, put Jane Austen in India, London and L.A. and you pretty much have my attention. Another caveat is that I saw this one half in the bag, so that may have made me happier than I would have been sober.

The movie is in English, not sub-titled. So, your lips won't be sore because they moved too much from reading. <VBG>

The movie can be enjoyed even if you don't like the music. I like it and love the dancing. I am not a big musical fan and this had just enough numbers, but not so many that a lot of bad songs snuck in.

Yes, this is a chick flick. For those who occasionally have to rent a chick flick, this may be one you'll enjoy. It is the first chick flick I've seen since "Debbie Does Dallas." Not quite as graphic.

I rarely do this, but I may watch it again in a couple of years.
