If a Bush-Cheney clone pair is elected in 2008, their swearing in should include truth in advertising, i.e. "We swear to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States except when we think it interferes with the Executive carrying out National Security Policy as we and only we see fit."

That's what we have now.

What about Clintonesque?

It is beyond Nixonian, way beyond. We're going to have to invent a new word to describe it. "Cheneyesque" perhaps? Or, more brief, Cheynesque? Rovesque?

Clinton tried to use "executive privilege" to prevent prosecutors from questioning his aides during the Lewinsky affair.

Apparently the law on executive privilege remains unclear.
