To make an old point, ethanol is great for Brazil where there's
lots of heat and space in which to grow increasing amounts of
sugar cane. It won't work for colder climates where the cost
of ethanol is about the same as oil. That is, until and unless
somebody actually finds a way to convert cellulose into a liquid fuel.
