spot market would have both grades.

i remember our supply people bought some gas on spot market and sent it into us to prevent a run out. we were tanker receipt terminal. Well it was a zoo to try to unload this tanker. the captain was from one country where the workers were from some other place and none understood english and all the fittings were european and we had to run around to try to find right equipment to off load this thing. The pumps were so bad we had to cut the tanker lose after three days as it couldn't offload the rest of the product, so we sent it to another terminal where the tanker didn't need to pump up hill to a tank farm. ha Oh, i was screaming bloody murder because the refinery shut down my loading rack as they were receving product directly in active tanks. No way could you load a truck you never know what you may get from the bottom of those storage tanks once they get rolled up. so i had to set up exchange with a local competitive terminal which killed my productivity numbers for three days. Finally i got refinery manager attention at 10pm at night he shut off the tanker and made supply in nyc send the tanker elsewhere.. something never done. ha

ps. i am surprised to read buying on spot market vs going out to bid for supply.
