A couple of guys succeeded in jumping the fences and went straight to the allies telling what was going on. Nobody acted on it, nobody took it seriously and books have been written about it. Now that is all long after the war. What people didn't know - or preferred not to know back then - seems to be very similar for the West, the Allies and the Germans. With 20/20 perfect hindsight and given another 5-10 years, story became different and it became obvious that almost a whole world hade become blindsided - or blindsided themselves for common convenience while different agendas though. Hitler was not the only one who had a problem with the Jews.
