"My best friend, who has a heart condition, just got a claim denied from a hospital visit. He now owes $6,500 for a trip to the hospital, and his insurance company won't pay for anything anymore."

Ah, hell. Sorry to hear that. Sadly, that is common. I have some friends, educated and top of their fields, who have been wiped out because of breast cancer. And they both are at the point of retirement. All they have being a Walmart greeter in their future. Starting over when you are 68 plus is tough. Now Shorty, Tench and Harris will say it it all their fault. Given perfect predictive powers, they should have seen what would happen. The fact they decided to buy a house, inside the Loop was their fault.

The fact that it is almost impossible to predict the worst possible case isn't really relevant. Unless you are Paris Hilton, you should be cowering in a cave, planning for the worst. If it doens;t happen, well it should. Such is social darwinism. Which is something they don't believe in unless it involves the unfortunate crashing on the rocks. In which case, it is God punishing them for unspecified sins.
