Have you not read what all of the dems said about Saddam and his wmd cash BEFORE we invaded ? You have very little wiggle room playing Monday morning President.... were you willing to risk what the lunatic was going to do while every one was saying he had wmd and was going to use them AGAIN ?

Don't be silly, Sdgla. Only the current NIE report is to be believed, and only where it suggests Al Qaeda is growing stronger. Nobody should have believed the Octoboer 2002 NIE report that said FOR SURE Saddam had WMDs, and let's all forget that anybody did believe it. Repeat after me: Bush lied, people died.

I'm not sure how great an excuse it is to cry "But everyone else was wrong too!" It's especially hard to cry that when other people didn't go to war over it. It's even harder to cry it when there were people who weren't wrong, at the time.

But you go ahead, and defend mistakes. If a democratic president had called for a war over this I'd be just as pissed off. You, I suppose, would be defending that president...NOT.

That "lunatic" used WMD on his own people, and on the Iranians. He just wasn't a threat to us, except in terms of ME stability. He had always been a fairly regional actor. If he had used them AGAIN on some actor in the ME, would I care enough to start a war which would end up costing billions, make us look foolish, incompetent and hypocritical, and mire us down in a commitment that would have no clear endpoint for years and years? No. You wring your hands all you want- but in my opinion you'd be a damn site more rational if you were wringing them over Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
