Do you think bureaucracy IS socialism?

"I don't see why the "nuance" between a bureaucracy and a socialism matters."

Other than the fact they aren't the same, I dunno.

Why do you have to make up your own definitions for things? While a socialistic state likely has a bureaucracy, but it isn't a strict requirement. Any government, regardless of orientation, is going to have a bureaucracy of some sort. While it isn't a strict requirement, it does make administration easier.

"I don't know of any socialism that isn't in the form of a big government bureaucracy."

So, you never heard of a kibbutz? Any time when costs are shared equally, that is socialistic. And many such cooperatives don't have large bureaucracies associated with them. It is a nature, human impulse to band together and share. The whole idea of every man for himself is a rather more recent invention.

Z, I don't know of any socialism that isn't in the form of a big government bureaucracy.

Ted has been on the side of more socialism in his previous posts. I don't see why the "nuance" between a bureaucracy and a socialism matters

I push socialism only because the US has gone too far to the other side. When people believe that a profit motivated health care system is better than one that cares about the person and not the profit, that suggests to me that people are too caught up with the myths of capitalism.
