LOL, we did the same thing (actually, we're still doing that)!
All of our friends children have grown up and have children of their own. My house is straightened, swifered when need be, dusted. They have no kids and maids, I have kids and no maid.<g> To me it's a waste of money. As soon as a maid is finished, the kids go and mess it right back up again.

The oldest turned out to be a neat-nik and his younger brother is a slob.<g> In his defense, he's only 16.

All the time my brother and I were growing up we had Saturday chores. We kept our bedroom swept, dusted and bed made. We also took turns doing our own bathroom. We weren't allowed out of the house on Saturday until mom "inspected". Good training for boys.
