Abdullah Mehsud was on the country’s wanted list for kidnapping two Chinese engineers in 2004. Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Cheema said that Mehsud killed himself with a hand grenade after troops raided his hideout in southwestern Baluchistan province. "He was killed in a house in Zhob, where he was staying with three comrades," Cheeman said. His three comrades were captured. Mehsud, a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner, was second in command of a Pakistani Taliban group headed by Baitullah Mehsud.
