What's weird is the incidence of breast cancer is much higher in the US than the rest of the industrialized world; in fact, the US rate is the highest of 28 nations:"

Breast cancer is a complicated issue. Whoever can characterize the problem is due for a lot of money. It is my strong belief that this is one of those problems that, when the factors are discovered, this disease can be easily modeled. That time isn't yet, but I suspect we aren't more than a decade from that point.

I am just surprised at how much higher the incidence is in the US vs. the other 27 nations in the study. It is a significant deviation and seemingly there are no obvious reasons that explain it.
