You might get some insight into that question by monitoring the OI, insofar as new demand should be reflected in increased OI as opposed to third parties just trading the same contracts around

e.g. -- cboe.com

However, it isn't easy interpreting limited data of that nature where there are so many possible explanations for the activity levels, not all of which are bad

It would better if we could just look at the book for the biggest MMs to see how much of the OI is theirs and at what price levels, but for some reason I don't seem to be able to find a link to that data ROFL
