That reminded me of a summer at the age of about 14, a friend and I rode our bicycles (one speed, balloon tires) from west of Denver into the mountains above Morrison. My uncle had a dairy farm there and we worked in the hay field. I learned to drive a team of horses to pull the hay wagon. I also rode on the mowing machine and had to raise the cutting blade to avoid mowing into gopher hills or rocks. Lots of hot, hard work. But the food was incredible and no trouble sleeping.
