Although I like the mobility of a notebook I still find a bigger screen, e.g. 24" wide screen, is more suited to my purposes much of the time. Furthermore DVI and a 1920x1080 graphics capability are needed to drive such a screen properly.

I also find the batteries tend to cook if left on a desktop charger for extended periods. That's both expensive and annoying.

Wireless keyboards, mice and wireless networking have eliminated clutter otherwise.

What do others do about the screen and battery issues?

I'm in the market for a new computer soon.

tnx
