There are some simple tests that check short term memory learning skills. A gal I know just took them and her Dr said she didn't have Alzheimer's.

Failure isn't necessarily a diagnosis of Alz but it points in that direction.

I would nail down all insurance, etc before getting any definitive diagnosis.
