The nervousness about the markets is what keeps it going up. No complacency in this cycle. Folks are rightly worried about the dollar, the deficit, the mortgage crisis, the housing collapse among others. Look i was part of the jttab massacre last week. I exposied the son of a bitch for what he is and i am proud of that. Good folks on the left that i have come to like and respect led the fight--folks like Mike O'Neill, rat, ktomi,GST, C.Hinton, and a bunch of others led the fight. The other racists like gaviero and bacchus continue to spread their poison but jttab hid behind his wifes skirt becoming his own version of david duke. He tried to appear to be a moderate. No more david duke pretty boy---under the mask is son of hitler.

I think people on SI have always been rude. IMO they used to be a lot ruder- but we had Jill constantly bopping people on the head when they talked about gang bangs or swore or called each other gay. Now there is no Jill- so the more extreme forms of abuse flourish. They don't flourish so much here- though this thread can get rather spicy, but some threads are veritable slam fests. Of course then there are the moderated threads- and keeping out all the people you would otherwise yell at (whether you are left or right) or only letting in a few tokens to abuse, helps to keep the abuse down too.

The internet has always been a handy place for people to vent their anger. It's probably better they vent here, than that they bash their relatives over the head.

"I don't always agree with you, ..."

No problem. Simple disagreement like other stimulating challenges never unnerves me and often motivates me toward growth.

Conflict is built in to the human condition, from deciding which color of socks go best with your outfit to struggling over more complex questions that require wisdom of experience and collaboration from varying view points. This is a good thing, not something within which we necessarily need to identify a manungous among us. Scapegoating tends to supersede an otherwise reasonable argument much like name calling does. Yet there is a long and vainglorious history behind both, so feel free if that's your bent.

The current partisan polarization has caused a rift in our unity that is unnatural. When the goal is a solution that serves the best interests of all, no one need be identified as an enemy within; except maybe those disruptive individuals who are prone to blocking sensible solutions for selfish reasons of their own. The political process and system of representation in America was designed to find and implement solutions that are in the best interests of all Americans. Who or what is the enemy in the midst of that?

Persons who base their views and decision making on conscience, are generally persons most likely to be found living by high ethical standards. It is these persons who are equiped to serve honorably in a representative form of government like ours, regardless of their group affiliation. For that reason we would be wiser to select them based on this measure than based on party, religious, group membership, or philosophical affiliation.

"The angry, the bitter, and the unhinged are showing their teeth and claws."

Funny how a completely CRIMINAL administration that ignores the Constitution, Congress, the rule of law and the American people will cause that! It's just that that gives me HOPE. You dead-endish fascist enablers are the only reason they get away with it.

"I think that folks are presently very nervous about the markets."

How did you know? Are you the guy from Twilight Zone who gets the newspaper a day in advance? You went short yesterday, didnt you?
