My point is that a viable alternative exists that would preclude many of the objections to the current technology.

Seems to me that if the knowledge that such an alternative was widely known, the research required for the technology to bring it online could be accelerated.

Of course there are powerful vested interests that have no particular desire to see Uranium displaced by a cheaper fuel, and there are those who see the lack of weapons grade plutonium as a negative.

The pluses of bringing the Thorium nukes online seems obvious, but the developments are nearly totally ignored.
