re: Then how come our public schools are falling behind? Surely other countries have figured out how to administer their education more effectively?

Would you dismiss out of hand an opportunity to make our schools incrementally better (and save money)? Then why do you do the same with health care?

>Then how come our public schools are falling behind? Surely other countries have figured out how to administer their education more effectively?

Because of a lack of fair income distribution among municipalities. Our public schools are failing in poorer areas, but doing great in wealthier areas. I can definitely see it in the Albany area, where the wealthy districts always perform very well, while they're just gutting the inner city schools.

>The whole argument that "other countries have figured it out" is bogus. Somehow, that hasn't helped us with education or securing the borders. I'm sure you can figure out why.

Actually, to be honest, I don't see why this argument is relevant.

Z, > But that doesn't happen everywhere else...

Then how come our public schools are falling behind? Surely other countries have figured out how to administer their education more effectively?

What the elite want in this country they get; to whit, there is no problem with the schools they send their kids and very few of their kids are falling behind.

The whole argument that "other countries have figured it out" is bogus. Somehow, that hasn't helped us with education or securing the borders. I'm sure you can figure out why.

In terms of health care, its been proven statistically that other nations have done a better job. Why are you closed to doing it better?
